Mixing with Picture

Mixing with Picture

This book is for whoever wants to become a music producer, a recording engineer, or just play around with music.

Even though this book is tittle “mixing audio with pictures” it will help anyone with the desire of learning the art of mixing.

HOW EVERYTHING STARTED DREAM VS REALITY

THE DREAM

Everything start in a well sound recording environment, with top of the line equipments, the best recording engineers and the best musicians in the world.

That’s how everything should started, but the reality is other for many of us recording engineers and home studio owners.

We simply don’t have or can’t afford to have a room well treated for audio only, many of the time we don’t have an extra spare room, because if we did that room would become our perfect recording studio, but instead many of us have to share or maybe is the other way around, “our family share a room with us.”

It’s all good, at least they’re sharing. Oh, don’t worry about that noise, that’s normal.

THE REALITY

Everything start with you, in a not-so-well sound recording environment, with a couple of not-so-top of the line equipments, but a good sounding one, or at least for our budget, you as the recording engineer and probably you as the musician, as well as the performer, the singer, songwriter, composer, mixing and mastering engineer.

You have an idea, then you sit down, think about it and start calling musicians, or to be exact “your musicians.”

I hope by now you know what I mean.

In my case I have many musicians friends but not all of them are available to me when I need them to be, so I choose my other workaround which is, of course you guess it, “Virtual Musicians or Virtual Instruments” not on everything but on most parts of the arrangement.

I know sometimes if not what you want but at least you can get the idea out of your head and work it from there.

At least you’ll have the basic idea, then you wait for each musician to arrive and record theirs parts.

Whatever you do or whichever route you take, just do it, get it out, get over with, that way you have something to share with your friends, they might be proud of you, and maybe become your number 1 fans and probably your future customers, LOL.
